Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Gangtok

Meet our tour representative upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport/ Jalpaiguri Railway Station. He will help you with an assisted transfer to one of our listed hotels in Gangtok. Featuring pristine natural beauty, the city is blessed with thick luxuriant forests, alpine landscapes, rivers and inviting lakes. Witnessing Mt. Kanchenjunga covered in snow is a sight to behold. Check-in at the hotel after reaching. Rest of the day is to be spent leisurely. Either soak in the comforts of your room or go out to explore some of the top tourist attractions. Saramsa Garden, Rumtek Monastery, Yumthang Valley and Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the best places to visit in Gangtok. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 2 - Excursion to Tsomgo Lake (38 km / around an hour's drive)

Day 2 of your tour starts with a hearty breakfast. Thereafter, an excursion to the Tsomgo Lake is reserved for the day. The oval-shaped lake is perched at an elevation of 3753 meters. Home to several migratory birds and the Brahmini ducks, the lake remains covered in snow for most of the year. The lake receives its water from the melting of mountain snow and is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Once here, you will come to know that the lake holds great religious importance among locals. If you want to, you can enjoy yak and mule rides along the lake. Offer your prayers at a temple nearby which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. From here, move straight to Baba Mandir which is next tourist attraction on the list for the day. The holy shrine is tucked between Jelepla pass and Nathu La. Also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, the highly revered site echoes an interesting legend associated with it. Once done with the half-day trip, return to the hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Unwind yourself or head towards the local markets to fulfill your shopping spree. Gangtok is quite famous for locally made artifacts, handicrafts, Tibetan carpets, tea, sparkling jewelry, black cardamom and so on. An overnight stay is planned at the hotel.


Day 3 - Gangtok local sightseeing (half-day) - Kalimpong (77 km / around one and a half hours' drive) (Sightseeing)

Savor scrumptious breakfast and get ready to explore some other places to visit in Gangtok which include Directorate of Handicraft Handlooms Emporium that beautifully exhibit all the handloom and handicrafts items produced in the state. The museum was established with an aim to propagate and preserve the brilliant artifacts of local artisans. A huge collection of Tibetan carpets, traditional motifs and other excellent handicrafts will leave you in a state of awe. You can buy unique items here that too within your budget. From there, proceed to the Research Institute of Tibetology, one of the most important places in Gangtok. Also known as Namgyal Institute of Tibetology the museum helps you get detailed insights into the spirit, culture and essence of the land. Even today, a number of international conferences and lectures are held here. Next attraction of the day is Do Drul Chorten - a magnificent stupa in Gangtok. Perched on a hill, the gompa is highly revered by the Buddhists. The golden dome of the stupa steals the limelight and 108 prayer wheels around the gompa cast a spell. From here proceed towards Enchey monastery. Belonging to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism, the gompa dates back to 1909. Several murals, auspicious Buddhist symbols and wheel of law are skilfully displayed here. Subsequently, take a tour of the White Hall. Situated on the highest point in Gangtok, the hall presents a sight to behold. From here, you will be taken to the Flower Exhibition Center, a paradise for plant lovers. Once done with exploring the attractions of Gangtok, you will be comfortably transferred to Kalimpong. The pristine hill station is famous for Buddhists monasteries, astounding views of valley, churches and Tibetan handicrafts. After reaching complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Day 4 - Kalimpong Sightseeing (half-day) - Darjeeling (48 km / around 2 hours' drive)

On day 4, you will delight in an outing to Kalimpong. Satiate your hunger and cherish a road trip to Deolo Hill. Hailed as the highest point in Kalimpong, the point offers the most spectacular views of the area. It is one of the two hills that the town is positioned in between. Marvel at the stunning views from the top. Later on, proceed to Hanuman Mandir. A huge statue of Lord elevated to a height of approximately 30 feet perched on a hilltop overlooks the town. Next, you're going to visit a famous school in the town, Dr. Graham's homes (school). The school has a goal to educate poor kids and the children of tea workers. Afterward, you will proceed to explore some of the best places to visit in Kalimpong like Durbin Monastery which is located on the Durbin Dara Hill. Next attraction is the Mangal Dham. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, the holy site is a shrine cum a prayer hall. This is followed by a trip to Pine View Nursery to witness an exotic collection of cactus. Post this, you will be traveling to Darjeeling. Home to the famous World Heritage Train- Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the place is one of the most popular hill stations in India. Famed as the 'Queen of Hills', the place features natural beauty, salubrious weather, tea plantations, lakes, monasteries, museums, etc. After reaching, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and unwind. The evening is to be spent at leisure. Take a tour of the local markets to buy amazing kitchen wares, a variety of tea, brass statues, and woven fabrics. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 5 - Darjeeling local Sightseeing (half-day)

Start the day with an enthralling drive to Tiger Hill. Soak in the natural beauty and treat your eyes to some of the best sunrise views. Exploring the attractions is the major highlights of the Darjeeling sightseeing package. Amazing views of Mount Kanchenjunga from here will render you speechless. Return to the hotel after this wonderful experience. En route visit the Ghoom Monastery belonging to Gelugpa (yellow hat) Sect. The monastery is known for housing a 15-feet high statue of The Maitreya Buddha. Next, enjoy a trip to Batasia Loop and War Memorial. The Batasia Loop is a fascinating garden and offers picturesque views of the surroundings from the toy train. On the other hand, War Memorial honors the Gorkha soldiers of Darjeeling who sacrificed their life happily for the country. Return to the hotel for breakfast and cherish a short break. Later on, proceed for a half-day tour to Darjeeling. First of all, you will explore Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park which shelters some of the unusual faunal species. Perched at a height, it is one of the highest Zoo in India. From here, reach Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Set up with a goal to inspire the young generation to participate in exciting sports like mountaineering, the institute remains close on Thursday. Take an enthralling ride on the ropeway to admire the bird's eye view of the town and make your Darjeeling holiday special. After the ride, make a move towards Tenzing and Gombu Rock. Deriving their names from Tenzing Norway and Nawang Gombu, these two big natural rocks are set opposite to each other. Next, get glimpses of Tibetan Culture at Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center. Later on, take a tour of the tea estate to see and taste different varieties of tea. Call it a day at Peace Pagoda- a Buddhist monument or stupa constructed to promote peace and unity. An overnight stay is planned at the hotel.


Day 6 - Departure- Darjeeling to Siliguri (64 km / around one and a half-hour drive)

Today is the last day of your Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Gangtok tour. Check-out from the hotel after breakfast and head towards Siliguri. From there, you will get assisted transfer to Bagdogra Airport or Jalpaiguri Railway Station to catch a flight or train for your onward journey.
